About the product

Frame-Shift is the new Moroso bookcase designed by architects Oscar and Gabriele Buratti. An essential system, made of very few elements that are repeated by vertical overlapping, to form compositions characterized by the horizontality of the shelves.

“Spaced and overlapping horizontal lines draw a structure made of planes, which accommodate sliding doors and back panels that can be positioned and moved as desired, covering and revealing closed and open spaces,” say Oscar and Gabriele Buratti . “The magic of the sliding doors characterizes this piece of furniture in all its variations, while the sophisticated design of the double-sided track becomes the technical aspect that enhances its elegance.”

Frame-shift

The piece of furniture has a marked typological flexibility: the idea is to have up to 5 overlapping shelves, supported by a light open metal box, and therefore be able to decline different functional and typological proposals. The structure can mount sliding closing panels on both sides, to be placed indifferently against the wall or in the center of the room. Frame-Shift can be composed with extreme freedom to structure the spaces of the house in a different and articulated way. With two shelves we will have, for example, a low cabinet or a TV stand, with three it can become a piece of furniture to be placed behind a sofa or a low wall-mounted sideboard, up to being able to configure a large bookcase with four or five shelves on the wall, or to be used as a divider in the center of the room; compositions where transparency, the play of full and empty spaces and the see-through effect are essential elements of the system.

The tops are always finished in wood, while the longitudinal profiles are in extruded aluminum and serve as a guide for attaching and sliding the doors: the thin thickness lightens the aesthetics and silhouette of the bookcase. The closing panels are available in two glossy lacquer variants, black and white, in two matt lacquer colors, Shell and Agata, and in stop-sol silver glass.
